1. Eliaquim Mangala

There can be a case made that Eliaquim Mangala is one of the worst signings in all of Premier League history, never mind just at Manchester City.

At a time when fees were beginning to really explode into the realms of silly money, City paying over £40m for relatively unknown defender Mangala raised plenty of eyebrows.

He made the move over to England from Porto in 2014 and while he was a regular in the Premier League and given plenty of chances to impress alongside various partners within the City backline.

Mangala never ever looked comfortable in a City shirt and at times looked like a ticking time bomb in terms of making defensive mistakes and mishaps.

While City fans have enjoyed the likes of Vincent Kompany at the heart of the defence in the last decade, Mangala is regarded by many involved with the club as being at the complete opposite end of the spectrum.

Often clumsy in possession and lumbersome for someone who appeared to be so athletic, it was little surprise to Pep Guardiola ship Mangala out of the club, with loan spells at both Everton and Valencia.

He had his half decent moments in a City shirt, but for the money and the size of contract the club committed to him, Mangala will always go down as a massive disappointment.
