5. Eric Cantona
Widely considered one of the best players to ever play in the Premier League, Eric Cantona never featured for his native France in a World Cup finals. After being dropped, and subsequently hitting out at manager Henri Michel, during the 1990 World Cup Qualifiers Cantona received a ban for international matches. This didn't last forever though, as Cantona enjoyed good spells under both Gerard Houllier and Michel Platini but after THAT incident at Crystal Palace he missed out on the 1998 World Cup, where France lifted the trophy on home soil, because of a certain Zinedine Zidane. Cantona's only World Cup experience is managing France's beach side to glory in 2005.
