5 Worst Premier League Transfers This Summer (So Far)

1. Sebastian Coates & Younes Kaboul

These two come in a pair, as they've both signed for Sunderland, and the reason they've both signed for Sunderland is to be the answer to Sunderland's defensive troubles, that have seen them flirt with relegation for the last 3 seasons. You've read that correctly, a Sebastian Coates & Younes Kaboul central defensive partnership intended to prevent the ball from going into their own net.

This isn't some sick Carl Oyston joke, they haven't signed for Blackpool, in an attempt for Oyston to kick supporters while they're down, they've signed for Sunderland, an actual Premier League team, at the request of Dick Advocaat, last seasons saviour of Sunderland. How could you do it Dick, the fans pooled together and bought your wife flowers when you signed on after 'the great escape'?

Coates, despite doing an adequate job as a last-ditch, no nonsense defender during his loan spell at Sunderland, is still an absolute calamity waiting to happen. He's deemed surplus to requirements in a defensive duo containing Dejan Lovren and Mamadou Sakho. Kaboul hasn't made a Premier League appearance for the best part of a year and is as injury prone as Kieron Dyer & Jonathan Woodgate combined.

Fans and players alike will be quaking in their boots when visiting the stadium of light next season, quaking with laughter at the prospect of facing a duo from the likes of John O'Shea, Wes Brown, Younes Kaboul & Sebastian Coates in central defence.
