6 Essential Football Podcasts For The New Season

1. The Front 3

The Front 3

Despite not having the listenership of some of the podcasts on this list, The Front 3 is still one of the best when it comes to tactical analysis. The host, Adam Boultwood, is joined by football writers, Kristan Heneage and Nicó Morales, to look at the three biggest talking points from that week’s action. The line-up is occasionally bolstered by the inclusion of Laurence McKenna and “Statman” Dave O’Brien who each bring their own unique perspective to add to the debate.

It’s a novel format and, given the limited scope, allows them to take a closer look at the stories than most podcasts would. Its greatest success comes from its ability to make seemingly complex points, easy to understand through thoughtful analysis. This style is great for adding to the listener’s appreciation of the game without confusing them with technical language or over-complicated ideas.

Whilst the host and guests aren’t necessarily the biggest names in the industry, they have greater knowledge and expertise than some of those who are. So, if you’re looking for a podcast with in-depth analysis from people with a genuine passion for the game, then The Front 3 is the one for you.
