An interesting question Tottenham fans have debated is who they would rather have in the team: Harry Kane or Gareth Bale. Imagine having both! It would be like a birthday and Christmas falling on the same day.

The return of the Prodigal Son. A true fan favourite. The marquee signing all Spurs fans want and need. A true Tottenham legend returning home. Bale announced to the world that he was unsettled at Real Madrid after scoring one of the greatest goals ever seen in the Champions League final. Acrobatics like that showed just a snippet of his immense talent. With one of the wickedest left boots to grace the football field and the ability to manipulate the curl on a ball similar to Roberto Carlos, Bale is a threat wherever he is on the field.

There is no doubt that Spurs can lodge a bid to bring Bale back, predicted to be around £80 million, but the stumbling block will be that Spurs won’t be able to match his wage demands. Age is no longer on his side as he approaches the dreaded 30 mark. Maybe loyalty to a group of fans that accepted him as a clumsy left back taken from the Southampton academy, evolved him from a reject to world beater will prove stronger.

If Kane and Bale could be in the same team together, there is no question that the Premier League title would be achievable, but dare the Tottenham fans dream of… the Champions League trophy?
