6 Reasons Why Pardew Will Never Quit Newcastle United

6. He Genuinely Believes He Is The Man To Lead The Team

There is something in the way Pardew holds himself, and the way he approached post-match interviews that suggests that he has a lofty opinion of his ability. Perhaps it's because he came with an impressive billing when he was still at Reading, or maybe it's the fact that he guided the team to fifth place in the Premier League? Either way, Pardew won't quit as long as he thinks he's right for the job. His excuses might be publicly mocked, but they suggest something about the way he thinks: in 99% of cases, it will be external factors, individual player errors or a lack of luck that leads to mistakes, and his lack of self-awareness suggests that he fundamentally does not believe the errors come down to himself. And if that is the case, why would he walk away?
