The original Ultimate Fighter, Forrest Griffin can lay claim to winning one of the greatest ever fights in UFC, an event that is credited with the present day success of the promotion. In the final of TUF season 1, Griffin took on fellow lightweight Stephan Bonnar in a brutal and gutsy performance from both men. Many expected the fight to be filler before the main event of Ken Shamrock vs. Rich Franklin. What occurred was a striking battle between two men determined to win. With fans on their feet, the two UFC hopefuls battled it out punch for punch, Griffin coming out on top via unanimous decision. Griffin went on to win the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2013 along with Bonnar. Now officially retired, Griffins win holds a significant spot in UFC history. His determined, passionate and gritty win unlocked a thirst for MMA on a global and has catapulted the UFC into realms far beyond any other MMA promotion had ever reached.
