6 Ups & 4 Downs From Premier League 2019/20 Week 2

2. Wolves' Fighting Spirit

How different things might've been had Paul Pogba let Marcus Rashford take that penalty midway through a tough second half shift against a gamey Wolves. Standing there with his hands on his head and wearing an expression of disbelief, Pogba stared back at his annoyed teammates after watching Rui Patricio save.

It summed up the Frenchman's Utd career. At times, he's been excellent. At others, frustrating.

Full credit must go to Nuno EspĂrito Santo and his Wolverhampton team for the way in which they turned the game on its head after the break. They struggled to get a look in during a first 45 mins that proved exciting for Utd fans; they could be forgiven for believing they were heading for two wins from two when Anthony Martial nearly burst the net on the 27th minute.

Wolves were undeterred by that setback and showed it with a marvellous second half that proved their mettle in front of a rowdy Molineux. Winger Adama Traore changed the game, and his (and Wolves') efforts were rewarded when Ruben Neves produced a moment of splendour, striking from the edge of the box and beating David de Gea to level things at 1-1.

End-to-end stuff, and another example of Wolves' meteoric rise as a Premier League stalwart.
