Last season, 27-year old French defender Willy Boly made 26 league appearances as Wolverhampton Wanderers romped to the Championship title and secured their place in the Premier League. Throughout, the towering muscle man looked assured and like he had found the club for him.

He had.

Wolves were so impressed by Boly's loan spell from Porto that they decided to approach the Portuguese champions and see if they'd be interested in green lighting a permanent deal. Once it became clear they were, the Midlands side agreed to secure their man for a relatively modest £10 million fee.

That's good business for someone so solid. Boly, a player who is in his prime, has settled in well at Molineux and can now tackle the challenge of helping keep Wolves in the Premier League. Whoever at Wolves was responsible for negotiating that fee with Porto, take a bow.
