7 Best Fights Of Michael Bisping's Career
4. Cung Le - UFC Fight Night 48
This was a fight in a similar vein to Bisping's bout with Denis Kang, in that "The Count" was once again facing adversity coming in. Bisping had been set to battle Mark Munoz at UFC Fight Night 30 in a Manchester homecoming, but injury struck in the run-up to the fight.
He had previously undergone surgery to fix a detached retina that he had unknowingly been fighting with throughout 2013; in training for the Munoz fight however, Bisping's retina re-detached itself, forcing him to undergo another surgery and pull out of the contest.
It had been almost a year since his last fight when Bisping took on Tim Kennedy at The Ultimate Fighter Nations Finale and was defeated by unanimous decision in a poor performance. He was judged to have won only one round in the eyes of two of the judges, and was not given even a solitary round by the other. Once again Bisping was under pressure to bounce back, this time against Le.
"The Count" did just that in one of the most impressive performances of his career up to that point. He bloodied and beat the Vietnam-born fighter in a one-sided affair, sealing the TKO stoppage in the fourth round. Bisping earned his first ever Performance of the Night honours with the win, and proved that what could have been a career-threatening injury was not going to slow him down.
