7 Best Fights Of Michael Bisping's Career
3. Anderson Silva - UFC Fight Night 84
For much of Bisping's career, one man had sat at the top of the middleweight mountain: Anderson Silva. Bisping had been very outspoken about his desire to fight "The Spider" over the years, and he finally got his shot in the main event of UFC Fight Night 84 in London, England.
Whilst Silva had hit 40 years old and was no longer Middleweight champion, only Chris Weidman had ever beaten him inside the Octagon at that point.
Bisping came in on the back of a two-fight win streak, and dropped Silva twice in the early portion of the bout. At the end of the third round however, a flying knee put "The Count" on the mat as he was signalling to referee Herb Dean that he had dropped his mouthpiece. Silva thought the fight was over and climbed on top of the cage to begin what were premature celebrations. Confusion ensued as the round ended and Herb Dean informed Silva that there would indeed be a fourth round.
A clearly rocked Bisping came out of his corner and displayed the heart that had defined him throughout his career, going on to win the fourth round and ultimately take a unanimous decision victory in the back-and-forth contest.
Bisping earned himself another Fight of the Night bonus, along with the bragging rights of being only the second man in the UFC to defeat the widely-regarded Greatest of All Time - and did it all in front of his fellow countrymen.
