7 Contenders For PFA Player Of The Year 2020 Prize

1. Sadio Mane (Liverpool)

Sadio Mane was adjudged Africa's Player of the Year in 2019 after a phenomenal year, and he's now on the verge of backing the honor by clinching the Premier League's Player of the Year gong too.

The Senegalese international may trail his team-mate Mohamed Salah in terms of goals with 14 to the latter's 16, but his impact in the big games has been telling.

He netted the equaliser against Manchester United, and has scored the winning goal against Aston Villa, Wolverhampton, Norwich City, West Ham United and lastly Bournemouth. So you can imagine where Liverpool would've been had he not intervened in those crucial moments.

Mane is undoubtedly a player for the big occasions, capable of pulling a rabbit out of his hat when the team most needs a miracle. And that's something he's been doing for over 12 months now, to be honest. And I haven't mentioned yet that he has another seven assists to his name.

If the award ceremony was to be held today, Sadio Mane would be the name on the envelope.
