7 Footballers To Play For Both NUFC And Leicester City
3. Paul Kitson
Leicester City: 1989-1992 League Appearances: 50 League Goals: 6 Newcastle United: 1994-97 League Appearances: 36 League Goals: 10 Born in Murton, County Durham, Paul Kitson actually progressed through the youth ranks at Leicester and broke into their first-team squad in 1989. The former England Under-21 striker played 50 league matches for the Foxes over three seasons, but he failed to really make the grade and netted just six times. A prolific move to Derby County followed before Kitson arrived in his native North East in 1995 for £2.25 million - and the exciting forward netted 10 goals in 36 league appearances during three years at St James' Park. Kitson moved to various clubs, including West Ham United and Brighton & Hove Albion, before retiring in 2005. He is remembered fondly in both the East Midlands and on Tyneside.
