7 Most Bizarre Injuries Which Kept Footballers Out Of Action
4. Liam Lawrence
Liam Lawrence, one of football's perennial under achievers given his talent and ability, was no stranger to being in a spot of bother during his time as a professional in the 2000s. However, nothing could prepare him for the most bizarre injury he would suffer in his career.
While plodding about his home with his beloved dog, Lawrence would later be made to regret one simple move involving said pooch.
The then Stoke City midfielder innocently stepped over his dog while coming down the stairs, only to see his ankle completely give way on landing, sending Lawrence for a tumble and a subsequent trip to the x-ray room.
Lawrence escaped a broken bone, but would go on to miss crucial games for the Potters, leaving manager Tony Pulis less than impressed.
