Oh dear, oh dear oh dear. Sometimes you just have to hold your hands up and say 'what was I thinking?', and this is exactly one of those moments for former England man Darius Vassell.

While recovering from an injury to his toe which had seen a huge blister develop, Vassell had seemingly had enough one day when he decided that the way to remedy the solution was to reach for the electric drill!

Vassell inexplicably attempted to drill though his to nail in the hope of releasing the pressure from the blister. He was wrong. Very wrong.

The Aston Villa man would go on to miss three weeks of action with the injury and would need professional help to fix it before it became any worse and ruined his career entirely.
