After Spurs were hammered 4-0 in March of 2014, then boss Tim Sherwood was said to be livid. In fact, the former midfielder kept his team in the dressing room after the match for a 45 minute rollicking and rumours began to surface of a physical exchange between him and misfiring striker Roberto Soldado that saw Sherwood punch the Spaniard in the face. Sherwood has always been hot-tempered - even in his playing days - so while some people might have believed this, the idea of a manager punching a player is crazy. Soldado himself - and fellow player Aaron Lennon - both took to Twitter to refute the rumour. Soldado said "Bad game today and our options to reach Champions League decrease! It is time now, more than ever, to fight together. Rumours do not benefit (us) at all, and everything that has been said is absolutely false." Lennon was even more forthcoming, stating "Today was not good enough and we let everyone down. But the rumours about the boss hitting someone are b*******. Crazy how powerful Twitter is."
