7 Things Rangers Must Do To Challenge Celtic

3. Invest Some Serious Cash

The biggest signing Rangers have made in the past 5 years has been 35-year old Bruno Alves. He knows all about playing with top names like Cristiano Ronaldo, but he walks into a team stuffed full of decent players who couldn't hope to live up to the expectations of the Rangers support. That's evident in the team's early-season results.

Dave King and company have done a lot for Rangers since seizing power in 2015. To ignore the improvements over the old board would be silly, but it is true that more must be done in order to take the Ibrox outfit back to the top of the Scottish game. King is rarely even in the country, spending much of time in South Africa. If he's not going to be a regular face in Glasgow, the least he can do is open his wallet.

Throwing cash at any situation is risky, but Rangers clearly need a better quality of player if they're going to tangle with Celtic. Remember when the Gers used to buy players like Ronald De Boer? Although the footballing market has changed since then, the team sheet must be peppered with players of higher quality.
