7 Things Rangers Must Do To Challenge Celtic
2. Be The First To Stop Their Winning Run
One-time Liverpool flop Brendan Rodgers has carried Celtic to 57 matches unbeaten in domestic competition. Not since May, 2016 (a 2-1 loss to St. Johnstone) have the Parkhead side tasted defeat in Scottish Premiership, Scottish Cup or League Cup action. It's vitally important for Rangers that they end that as soon as possible, if someone else doesn't beat them to it first.
Celtic's run has been impressive, even the most hardcore of Gers fans would have to admit that. Ignore calls that the Scottish game isn't any good too, because Rodgers and his troops can only beat who's in front of them. That includes Rangers, so it's childish to palm off their achievements as minimal.
And yet, Rodgers hasn't been challenged during his time in Scottish football. His Celtic side isn't the best in living memory (ask Martin O'Neill about that), and there hasn't been a strong Rangers to combat them. In other words, we won't know what Brendan's Celtic is made of until someone does put up a fight.
That's something Rangers must attack with all their might.
