When he left the military to pursue MMA full time in 2009, he quickly established himself as force at middleweight. He has a total professional record of 18-4, with 2 of his losses coming to men in the top 5 of the middleweight rankings.
A win against one of those men would serve to avenge his loss and also establish himself as a top contender to Chris Weidmans championship. Kennedy, like Weidman, relies on his powerful wrestling to control his opponents, so it would be interesting to see which of the two grapplers would come out on top in a bout.
