8 Areas Newcastle United Must Improve Upon To Cope With Papiss Cisse's Suspension

6. Facundo Ferreyra Must Be Brought Out Of The Shadows... Because There's Simply No-One Else To Turn To

Now we get on to the elephant in the dressing room (not literally, figuratively...) - Facundo Ferreyra. Everyone has heard how the Argentine was supposedly recommended to the club by his compatriot Fabricio Coloccini and how Alan Pardew simply didn't fancy him - but the 23-year-old has yet to make a single appearance in any competition for the Magpies since arriving from war-torn Ukraine for the season. The Shakhtar Donetsk forward boasts a pretty decent historical record - he scored 16 times in 22 league appearances for Argentine side Velez Sarsfield, and six in 13 in Ukraine - but he hasn't even been given a sniff on Tyneside. Maybe the striker isn't up to Premier League standard - but the Magpies are running out of options, and Newcastle's No 15 may find himself thrust into the limelight. Let's hope not though...
