3. Nigel Pearson Grabs James McArthur By The Throat
Despite playing down the incident in the aftermath, Nigel Pearson appearing to strangle James McArthur as Leicester City faced Crystal Palace at the start of 2015 has to be up there with one of the wackiest ever moments by a Premier League manager. With the Foxes routed to the bottom of the League as the season entered its second half, the pressure on Pearson was building. He'd already had confrontations with the club's fans, but his latest incident was another step up entirely. After McArthur unsuccessfully chased a long-ball down the touchline, he accidentally knocked over the Leicester manager and in a moment of madness grabbed the midfielder by the throat as he lay on the deck. Laugh about it now he may, but at the time there was certainly a look of red mist in Pearson's eyes and it is incidents like this that would have put the nails in the coffin of his Leicester City career - much to the delight of their fans as they are now flying high under the guidance of Claudio Ranieri.
