4. Phil Jones

Phil Jones has been with Manchester United for some time now. He signed from Blackburn Rovers in 2011 and has seen a bit of success in his years at Old Trafford. Not quite enjoying the years of dominance seen previous to his signing, Jones has still managed to be part of the title winning team in the 12/13 season, along with victories in the community Shield in 2011 and 2013, the FA Cup in 2016, and the Europa League in 2017.

Although Jones has tasted silverware in his time with the red devils, the United mans career trajectory has been one filled with empty promises. This is in respect to what Sir Alex Ferguson had said about the player when he first signed him, stating that he was one of the best players he had ever seen, and one that can play anywhere on the pitch.

This turned out to not be that case and Jones often struggles to play well in any position he finds himself in, especially in defence, where he has received some of the most scathing criticism of any footballer in the English game for his poor performances.

It is due to these awful showings that Jones finds himself on the United bench these days. However, it isn't all bad for big Phil, as he rakes in £75k per week in order to ride the bench, preventing him causing more trouble on the pitch.
