8 Most Overpaid Premier League Footballers Right Now
1. Joe Hart
Joe Hart was once the poster boy for English goalkeeping. Hart rose through the ranks at boyhood club Shrewsbury Town before he made the move to Premier League side Manchester City. He was then loaned out to Tranmere Rovers, Blackpool and finally Birmingham City before earning his place in the first team at City, beating Shay Given to the number one spot, and enjoying some great success.
However, in the years since then he fell out of favour at the Etihad, and was subsequently loaned out to Italian outfit Torino, before another loan spell at West Ham. Finally City sold the keeper to Burnley in 2018 and Hart is currently earning £45k a week with the clarets.
Now normally that would not be so bad, however, he is not only earning this amount as the second string goalkeeper, but he is currently earning £10k more a week than the first team goalkeeper Nick Pope. If I was Popes representatives I would be looking for at least a level pay-scale for the shot-stopper.
