Back in 2010, just a year after he signed for Newcastle, Slovenian former wonder kid Haris Vuckic was apparently the subject of interest from Manchester United, according to the Daily Mail. At that stage, he had only started three games for the Magpies, but he was still a hugely rated talent, and Sir Alex Ferguson was apparently sniffing round. But this wasn't the first time Man Utd had been interested, and before Vuckic signed for Newcastle - at a time when he also had a trial for AC Milan - he almost signed for Man Utd in 2009 from NK Domzale. Ultimately, Sir Alex's loss was Newcastle's gain, and while he hasn't quite blossomed into the talent he should have, there is still time for him to pull off a Mehdi Abeid style resurgence.
