8 Newcastle United Players Fighting For New Contracts

5. Remie Streete

Despite having come through Newcastle's youth system, defender Remie Streete has failed to make a single first-team appearance for the Magpies. One of the five Newcastle players to join Scottish side Rangers on loan in February, Streete made his debut alongside Haris Vuckic for the Glaswegian side against Raith Rovers in the Scottish Cup but limped off during the first half with an injury. Three appearances on loan at League One Port Vale earlier this campaign are the only other occasions the 20-year-old has played competitive first-team football - and that means the Magpies would be taking a serious punt on him by offering Streete an extended deal. Verdict: 25% chance of a new deal. He has never really been given a chance at St James' Park and he will likely be allowed to find another club.
