More often than not, Newcastle are embarrassed when they play live on Sky or BT, especially away from home. Mercifully, in the final eight games, Newcastle are only scheduled to be on television once: the rearranged home game against Manchester City. This season has shown a slight change to the trend, with four of Newcastle's six wins coming when they were on TV. Wins against Norwich, Bournemouth, Liverpool and Tottenham were live for the nation to see, but Newcastle have actually lost more than they've won this season when on the box, falling to five defeats. The notion of playing on TV can sometimes give a side a psychological advantage: if you are the early kick off, a win can put severe pressure on the other sides in the relegation battle to get a result. Newcastle could be a victim of this on April 16 when Sunderland take on Norwich on BT Sport at 12:45. A win for either team would crank up the heat on Newcastle, who host Swansea on the same day at three. A lot of Newcastle's biggest collapses have been captured by Sky or BT, including the 5-1 horror show at Stamford Bridge this season, the 3-0 defeat to Leicester during last season's relegation battle, a 7-3 spanking at the hands of Arsenal in 2012, as well as all six of Sunderland's victories over their rivals. With seven of Newcastle's final games set for a traditional three o'clock kick off, the Geordies may be able to pull a result out the bag without the added pressure of the nation watching.
