8 Reasons Why Man City Will Be Pep Guardiola's Biggest Test

2. Fans Are Expecting Instant Results

Look, Manchester City haven't been bad under Manuel Pellegrini. A league title and two league cups isn't a bad return in such a competitive footballing country, but naturally the men at the top are striving for more, and who could blame them. Champions League showings have been poor almost every season (granted, City have been landed with some horrendous draws in the last few years) and their defence of their Premier League title was pitiful at best.

It's understandable that Sheikh Mansour would want to bring the absolute best in to guarantee the absolute best results for the club. This is however, where Pep Guardiola may falter.

As soon as he steps into his role as Manchester City's manager, the pressure will be on to achieve results. Aside from the ridiculous amounts of money being thrown around the Chinese league at the moment, Guardiola will be one of the highest paid coaches in the world, and the board will expect a quick return for their investment.

This is something Guardiola hasn't had to contend with before; he's a man coming in on the back of a reputation for being a tactical genius, and his reputation alone is being touted to turn around an underachieving Manchester City side. The moment he takes the reigns at the Etihad, the pressure is on, and it's up to him to have the mental strength to handle the pressure from a set of fans and a board that demands so much.
