8 Reasons Why Newcastle Should Sell Fabricio Coloccini

8. His Sale Would Represent A New Era

Sometimes change is good. Change is always good if the person that you're changing is John Carver. This season, Newcastle United need to represent a positive new era with their appointment of Steve McClaren and pry themselves away from the harrowing emptiness of last season. Unfortunately Fabricio Coloccini has those scornful memories embedded in his captain's armband. If you look closely into the Argentine defender's retinas you can see Joe Kinnear's arrival, the St James' Park sign being taken down and Yohan Cabaye on a flight to Paris. He's in too deep and it was evident he was starting to crack towards the end of last season as Newcastle desperately fought to avoid relegation. Newcastle United have a new head coach, have overhauled their backroom staff and have made three very decent signings - now it's time to replace the captain.
