The Raiders' long-suffering fans know they're leagues away from truly competing among the elite, but this year's draft class will surely provide some moments and wins for them to celebrate, with three of their top needs addressed during the first few rounds. It's a long road toward success, but the Raiders signing wide receiver Amari Cooper and tight end Clive Walford is a sign that games are hopefully going to become more enjoyable. Some experts have raised questions about second round pick Mario Edwards as he is pre-dominantly a run-stopper as opposed to a pass-rusher, but he will be a starter among Oakland's solidifying defence. First Round Pick: WR Amari Cooper, Alabama Crimson Tide. Amari Cooper is the best wide receiver in the draft, and Oakland's greatest need was for an explosive pass catcher, a target for spritely, young quarterback Derek Carr to aim at. Cooper racked up 1,727 receiving yards and 16 TDs in his final year with the Crimson Tide. Can he burst onto the scene and live up to last year's outstanding crop of receivers?
