The Rams came under fire when they neglected their urgent need to reinforce their offensive line when they signed running back Todd Gurley in the first round. A classic case of picking the best player available as opposed to opting for a position they need for the here-and-now. However, they certainly didn't forget their current issues by selecting three offensive tackles: Rob Havenstein, Jamon Brown and Andrew Donnal in the second, third and fourth rounds respectively. QB Sean Mannion was also taken in the third round, an interesting prospect with a pro-style who'll be hoping to develop in his own time as opposed to Winston and Mariota being thrown straight into their teams. The Rams have a solid unit, and if it all clicks, they could compete in an already competitive division. First Round Pick: RB Todd Gurley, Georgia Bulldogs. As mentioned, the Rams were expected to seriously look at their offensive line though they went for Georgia running back Gurley. He's an enormous talent, with physicality and desire used to plough on through defences. His drawback is a troublesome ACL injury, but if he bounces back to form, the Rams could have pulled off a masterstroke.
