9 Lessons Learned From The Ultimate Fighter Season 20 Premiere

1. Upsets Will Happen, Anyone Can Win

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4DfjdsW3dc In the very first fight of the season, we witnessed a huge upset, as Canada's Randa Markos used strong wresting to take a unanimous decision victory over one of the early favourites to win the show, Tecia Torres. Torres was ranked third in the tournament seedings. Torres' coach, Gilbert Melendez, was upset with the victory, feeling Torres did enough to win, but it seemed like a pretty clear-cut decision for Markos: Torres had the first round, but was dominated in the second, and the third, while close, had Markos doing more, securing a take-down, and overall dictating the pace. One fight, one upset. The rankings are interesting, and provide some semblance of order for the tournament, but it's still anyone's game. Most people didn't give Markos a chance, suddenly, she might have a shot. Anyone could win TUF 20.
