9 Players Who Have Flourished Since Leaving Man Utd
4. Dimitar Berbatov
Dimitar Berbatov is one of the most naturally gifted players that the Premier League has seen in recent seasons. His immense talent and finesse cannot be underestimated, but what does tend to trouble fans and managers alike is his work ethic. The Bulgarian impressed the footballing world whilst he was scoring week in week out for Tottenham Hotspur. He then made a massive move to Manchester United for £30.75 million in 2008, but struggled to recapture the form he was enjoying with Spurs. In his four seasons at Old Trafford he scored just 48 goals and although this was not a bad return from 108 games, he often frustrated his manager and the United fans. In a strong attacking line-up, Berbatov often found himself on the bench and this clearly aggravated him. He was regularly being questioned and chastised for his poor work ethic and before long he found himself on a move to Fulham. He again struggled slightly at the London club and he now plays his football for French side Monaco. He continues to play football the only way he knows; using his sheer talent and brilliance, often at the expensive of working for the team. Now in a side that is willing to accept his style of play, Berbatov appears to be happier than ever. This is showing on the pitch with goals such as the one below; an absolute peach for Monaco that sums up Dimitar Berbatov in one attacking move.
