2. Itay Shechter

Fast forward six years from Abbott's time at Swansea and you'll find another lost looking soul up front for Swansea in Itay Shechter. Shechter was signed by Michael Laudrup on loan from FC Kaiserslautern and his record for Swansea was identically appalling: eighteen appearances, one goal. Despite the eventual similar records, Swansea fans had high hopes for all of their recruits. With the team establishing themselves in the Premier League and being managed by a European football legend, expectations were high. Shechter wasn't a household name, we'll give you that, but based on the performances of other signings made that same transfer window (Michu, Chico Flores and Jonathan de Guzman to name a few) it was clear to see the Laudrup was using his connections well. It's those impressive performances by Michu alone which further highlighted Shechter's inability to perform in the Premier League. Where you knew one player would score, the other would give you the same confidence of your 39-year old, overweight centre back being one-on-one with the keeper. Barn door's across Swansea gave a sigh of relief when the Israeli international was in sight, as they were safe that day. His one goal came against Wigan as Swansea turned around a two goal deficit to win 3-2 and all but relegate former manager Roberto Martinez's team. That goal? Still could've been a deflection...
