Jamie McClen played as both a defensive-midfielder and a make-shift full-back for Newcastle during 14 Premier League appearances around the turn of the millennium. Cramlington-born McClen left Newcastle in 2005 and has since played for a variety of clubs, including Carlisle United, Blyth Spartans, Gateshead, Newcastle Blue Star and Morpeth Town.
