Max Allegri, Milan's manager, is on borrowed time. He cannot live off the fact that he won Serie A in 2011 forever. That was two-and-a-half years ago, and the Rossoneri have been way behind Juventus ever since. A San Siro draw with Roma on Monday leaves Milan well and truly out of the title race, and needing to almost double their current points tally to make it into next season's Champions League. The Rossoneri are only six points above the bottom three! Allegri will have to go. In many ways he is a victim of circumstance. Milan are a shadow of their former selves. Long gone is the team of Shevchenko, Pirlo, Maldini, Nesta, Gattuso and Crespo the side of Kaka's first spell. January reinforcements are coming, and have been impressively secured well in advance of the winter window opening. The arrival of French centre back Adil Rami may tighten up a Rossoneri defence that has conceded as many as they have scored up the other end. Japan playmaker Keisuke Honda may give Milan some extra guile too. By Italian standards, managers get a fair crack at the red half of the San Siro. Allegri has had his, so AVB could come in with little expectations for the first six months. How he would handle firebrand forward Mario Balotelli would be interesting to see. Where would you like to see Andre Villas-Boas return to management? Have your say below.
