Arsenal 1-1 Everton: Premier League Player Ratings

Arsenal

Wojciech Szczesny: Saved from Pienaar and Barkley in the second half. Beaten by a quickly taken and strong shot from Deulofeu late on. 6/10.

Carl Jenkinson: Kept Pienaar pretty quiet, but got no protection from Oviedo bursts. Remains an understudy to Bacary Sagna rather than a genuine challenger. 5/10.

Per Mertesacker: Never allowed himself to get turned and more than matched Lukaku in the air. 6/10.

Laurent Koscielny: Marshalled Lukaku well first half, forcing him into wide areas in search of the ball. 6/10.

Kieran Gibbs: Spent either side of half time attacking, but failed to track Deulofeu for the goal. Still learning how to defend. 5.5/10.

Aaron Ramsey: Slick during interchanges and drew two stops from Howard. Subbed. 6/10.

Mikel Arteta: Struggled to handle young Barkley against his former club here. A disappointing display from a player who has been highly consistent. 4.5/10.

Jack Wilshere: Popped up on either side as part of a fluid attack, but only threatened in an offside position. Subbed. 5.5/10.

Mesut Ozil: Showed some clever touches, but in areas that didn't hurt Everton. Bundled home a scrappy goal. 6/10.

Santi Cazorla: Fabulous cross just evaded Gibbs midway through the first half. Diving header at close range flew straight at Howard after the break. Subbed. 6/10.

Olivier Giroud: Gunners striker forced Howard into first of two late saves before the break. Rattled woodwork at the death. 6/10.

Subs: Theo Walcott: Put in the cross that led to Ozil goal after coming on for the final quarter. 6/10.

Mathieu Flamini: Fired wide when he came on. 5.5/10.

Tomas Rosicky: Involved in build-up to Ozil goal. 5.5/10.
