8. Eduardo da Silva
Brazilian born, but naturalized Croatian striker Eduardo saw his career seriously threatened by injury in February 2008. A promising career at Arsenal was curtailed by Martin Taylor's horror
tackle that broke his leg. Eduardo had only joined the Gunners the previous summer from Dinamo Zagreb and had shown promise with goalscoring exploits in both Europe and domestic cups. The injury cost him a year of his career and he only remained at the Emirates for another 15 months. Shakhtar Donetsk came in for Eduardo in the summer of 2010. He left Arsenal with a respectable goalscoring return of 21 goals in 67 games.
