4. Julio Baptista
Beware of the beast. Baptista was another of several Brazilians lured to Arsenal in the Wenger era. No other loan player has made as much of an impact on the team as he did. Netting ten times in a 35 game temporary spell from Real Madrid in 2006-07, Baptista attacked the League Cup with an alarming strike rate of two goals for every game played. He struck against Liverpool four times and saw a penalty saved in a memorable 6-3 victory for the Gunners at Anfield: Baptista then scored at both ends in the semi-final first leg draw at neighbours Tottenham. Arsenal took an aggregate victory, but lost to Chelsea and a Didier Drogba brace in the final.
