Arsenal: 10 Best Premier League Era Players (Who Appeared Less Than 100 Times)

5. Sylvinho

Brazilian left wingback Sylvinho joined up from Corinthians in 1999 and played in Arsenal's losing effort in the 2000 UEFA Cup final. His berth in defence came between Nigel Winterburn and Ashley Cole. Sylvinho is best remembered for scoring spectacular goals at Highbury, with one helping to relegate Sheffield Wednesday from the top flight. The Owls are still trying to recover from it today. The emergence of Cole meant Sylvinho sought pastures new in 2001 and moved to Spain with Celta Vigo. His two and a half seasons with the Gunners pales in comparison to winners' medals as a squad player at Barcelona. Sylvinho twice won the Champions League, took three La Liga crowns and a Copa del Rey whilst at the Nou Camp. He finished his career with Manchester City.
