Arsenal: 5 Reasons Mesut Ozil Was Worth The Money

3. His Creative Skills Are Still Highly Impressive

There is a perception out there that Ozil hasn€™t been very impressive this season; it€™s certainly not a view that I agree with. As mentioned, the playmaker started the season off in superb fashion, but his form has dipped off a little bit in recent weeks; this has led some people to think that he has been a waste of money. The truth of the matter is that the player stacks up very well as a whole this season; he€™s provided eight assists €“ which has been bettered only by Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney and Luis Suarez in the Premier League this season. It€™s a similar story as far as key passes are concerned with the German managing 2.9 per game €“ only David Silva has performed better in the EPL on that count. Ozil has also managed a respectable average rating of 7.19 this season as well as contributing four goals to the Arsenal cause in league games. All this data shows that Ozil should be in the team once he recovers from injury.
