Arsenal: 5 Reasons Why Arsene Wenger Should Be Sacked

4. Transfer Policy

For years now, Arsene Wenger has been using the same old time-honoured excuse for not dipping into the clubs transfer kitty and splashing out on world class players to fill sparsely filled positions in his squad - the debt incurred through building the Emirates Stadium. However, last month, the Gunners extended their shirt and stadium sponsorship deal with Emirates in a deal worth £150 million to the club, with part of that payment brought forward so the club could invest in players in the winter transfer window. Where did that money go? Why were no new recruits, barring Nacho Monreal, brought in? David Villa was tipped with a move to Arsenal, as was Edinson Cavani. Neither happened and the side still looks threadbare. Arsenal fans have been fed an all you can eat supply of false promises over recent seasons and it is time to put the knife and fork down and wake up to the reality that Arsenal are a club who simply don't look like progressing under Wenger.
