Best Right Midfielder: Freddie Ljungberg
A player that was as popular with the football fans as he was with the ladies, Freddie Ljungberg was a prodigious Swedish talent when he joined Arsenal at the age of 21, with Arsene Wenger having never seen him play live beforehand. This rish proved to be worth taking though as his time at the Gunners allowed his burgeoning potential to blossom fully, as Ljungberg became one of the greatest wide midfielders in the club's history. An excellent passer and crosser of the ball, with an ability to dictate the pace on the wing and get onto the end of Arsenal's patented counter-attacks, Ljungberg also had a keen eye for goal, scoring on his Arsenal debut against Manchester United and then racking up a total of 71 goals in 313 appearances for Arsenal before injuries led to his departure for West Ham United. Ljungberg was perhaps the most popular player at the club during his time at Arsenal, his omnipresence on the pitch and charismatic personality making him an instant success for Arsenal. During his time at the club he was able to win two Premier League titles, including being an integral component of the Invincible team of 2003/4, and became the first player to score in two consecutive FA Cup finals on the way to winning three of those trophies. However, Ljungberg's star always seemed to shine brightest against big opposition. His goal in the 2002 FA Cup final against Chelsea is one of the greatest ever scored in final, and his goalscoring exploits against the mighty Manchester United during his Premier League tenure made him a player that Arsenal could always turn to when the spotlight was shining its brightest. Other contenders: Samir Nasri, Theo Walcott
