Arsenal Favourites To Sign French World Cup Star

Another man set to leave Southampton...

Morgan Schneiderlin seems set to leave Southampton this summer and it's Arsenal who lead the race to capture the £25 million man. Since the midfielder's frustration at not being allowed to leave St Mary's last summer it is almost a matter of certainty this time around. Arsenal have once again sparked their interest in the French international after having yet another impressive season in England's top flight. The French international has his eyes on Champions League football next year which may sway his decision, with the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham also in the fray. Arsenal's biggest competition comes in the form of Manchester United however whose pockets may be that much deeper, although Arsenal are the current favourites, Squawka claims. After being relegated to League One in his first season with Southampton, the 25-year-old was an integral part of the club's phenomenal ascension through the leagues and went on to cement himself at the heart of a continually impressive and always improving side in the Premier League. Schneiderlin's understated success may well warrant a stint in a top team and a chance at playing against European heavyweights, but his price tag is likely to be debated long and hard. Arsene Wenger is certainly keen on bringing his fellow compatriot to the Emirates next season who has made 94 Premier League appearances, scoring 11 goals. He might have to try and get in before his rivals have a chance to secure is his signature, but you'd best believe he will be haggling the whole way.
