Arsenal & Man Utd Face Battle For German Bender

Will the highly rated German international be moving on from Leverkusen? According to a report from The Sun, both Arsenal and Manchester United face a struggle if they want to sign Bayer Leverkusen's Lars Bender at any time in the near future. The report states that both clubs are planning moves for the £20million-rated midfielder, who joined the club back in 2009 from 1860 Munich, having won the prestigious Fritz-Walter trophy for best young German player during his time at the club, ahead of new Chelsea signing Marko Marin. But Leverkusen director Wolfgang Holzhauser insisted: €œWe won€™t sell anyone.€ The 23 year old midfielder has made 103 appearances for his current club, who currently sit in fourth in the Bundesliga after ten games, and he has scored 9 goals in total. During his international career to date, Bender has won the 2008 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship as part of the Germany U19 squad, and has made the transition to the senior squad, after being selected in September 2011 for the 2€“2 draw with Poland. He was also chosen as part of Germany's 23-man squad for Euro 2012, coming on against Portuga and the Netherlands and starting at right-back against Denmark, scoring the winning goal. What do you think United and Arsenal fans? Would you like to see Bender brought into your team? Would £20million represent a good deal for the German international?
