Arsenal Transfer News: Bacary Sagna Hints At PSG switch
The Sun. The French fullback, 30, only has one year remaining on his current deal at the Emirates and has said he will make a decision on his future when he sits down with the club's board at the end of the season. Sagna was quoted by French paper Le 10 Sport as saying:
Of course it makes me proud to read PSG are interested. They are a very attractive club. Personally Ive not been approached by PSG. I dont know if they have contacted my agent or if these are rumours. I dont close any door. I could very well extend my contract here in London but equally I could leave at the end of the season. I only have one year left on my contract we will see. At the moment I am fully focused on Arsenal. I dont know what will happen this summer. The defender also admitted he could be interested in a fresh challenge and join the ambitious, newly promoted Monaco.
I have to see the directors again regarding an extension to my contract. Monaco would be a new challenge. I dont close any door to PSG, Monaco or Arsenal. At Arsenal, in the dressing room they tease me every day telling me I will leave to play at PSG. But it is speculation. I dont know what is going to happen.Sagna has been with Arsenal for six seasons having joined the Gunners from Ligue 2 side Auxerre in 2007. He has since gone on to make over 200 appearances for Arsene Wenger's side, and has twice been named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year; in 200708 and again in 201011. Wenger has already identified a replacement for the his fellow Frenchman should he call time on his Emirates stay, write The Telegraph. Borussia Dortmund right-back Lukasz Piszczek has been lined up, and is valued at around £12 million. However, his contract at Signal Iduna Park doesn't expire for another three years, meaning Wenger is only likely to make a firm offer if Sagna is sold.
