Arsenal Transfer News: Gervinho Out - Pepe Reina In?

gervinho Arsenal are planning a summer of changes this year with striker Gervinho set to leave the Emirates Stadium, according to the Daily Mail. The Gunners are hopeful a £12 million bid from Turkish side Galatasaray will go through in order to free up funds for Arsene Wenger to spend on long-term goalkeeping target Pepe Reina. The Turkish outfit are said to be keen on Gervinho after the 25-year old impressed at the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year, while Arsenal are set to ramp up their interest in Liverpool shot-stopper Reina. The Gunners had shown interest in Galatasaray's highly-rated goalkeeper Fernando Muslera, 26, but it is the Spaniard who is thought to be Wenger's preferred choice. That will raise serious question marks over the future of current No.1 Wojciech Szczesny. Arsenal were linked with a £10 million move for Reina last December, while Wenger failed with a £20 million offer back in 2010. Then, the Gunners came close to signing the keeper, only for the move to fall through due to the situations regarding Liverpool's ongoing takeover at the time. Reina would fit in quite well at the Emirates, as he would be joining fellow Spaniards Mikel Arteta and Santi Cazorla.
