Arsenal Transfer News: Gunners Confirm New Striker Yaya Sanogo Has Signed

The Gunners revealed their newest member of the squad on their website on Monday evening. The 20-year-old has joined the London-based club on a free transfer after being out of contract at French side Auxerre. In six years, Sanogo scored eleven goals in his 24 club appearances for the Ligue 1 side and will now want to make an impact in the Arsenal ranks. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger spoke of his joy at confirming the signing and hinted he could be the future of Arsenal strike-force:
Sanogo is a good young signing for us. He has shown that he has potential with his recent performances for Auxerre and also for the France Under-20 side. We are looking forward to Yaya joining us and continuing his promising development.The youngster has been favoured by his country several times, making appearances for Frances under-16s, 17s, 19s and 20s teams. Sanogo will likely feel right at home at the Emirates with French teammates Abou Diaby, Bacary Sagna, Laurent Koscielny, Olivier Giroud and Francis Coquelin all part of the first-team. Whilst the youngster is being viewed as the star of the future, Wenger is also rumoured to be adding a Real Madrids Gonzalo Higuain to the squad who will likely make a more of an instant impact to The Gunners up and coming Premier League campaign. The deal will officially be completed once the striker finishes his duties in the Under-20's World Cup. The club also stated that Sanogos shirt number will be revealed on the clubs official Twitter account @Arsenal in the near future.
