Arsenal Transfer News: Wenger Keen On Hugo Lloris

Arsene Wenger set to battle Liverpool and Spurs for Lyon's French stopper

yesterday's news that Liverpool would look to sign Lyon stopper Hugo Lloris if they lost Spanish keeper Pepe Reina to AC Milan, Arsene Wenger has now reportedly expressed his own interest in bringing the French number one to the Premier League. According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal have joined Liverpool and North London rivals on the trails of Lloris, who Lyon€™s president Jean-Michel Aulas has revealed is available as long as interested parties are willing to pay the right price:

"Lloris can go, but only for a decent price in relation to the market."
With a strong French contigent already on the books at Arsenal, Lloris might welcome a move to the Emirates above the other likely options, but it seems from Aulas' comments that his current club aren't interested in doing a deal unless the money is right. And that "decent price in relation to the market" comment suggests that the right price is going to mean a considerable outlay for a player who could potentially have another ten years playing in front of him. Arsenal are known to be in the market for a new stopper after news surfaced that Wenger was keen on signing Emiliano Viviano to provide competition to Wojciech Szczesny and the pursuit of Lloris would seem to further reinforce the manager's intentions. Lloris had a solid Euro 2012 tournament, captaining the French side who were ultimately knocked out by eventual winners Spain, and will attract interest from throughout Europe as he seems to be keen to call time on his four year association with Lyon. So Arsenal fans - would you welcome a move for Hugo Lloris? Share your thoughts on the player, and the potential move below.
