Arsenal Transfers: 10 Deals That Could Happen In January

10. Edinson Cavani IN

Edinson Cavani is said to have begged Paris Saint-Germain to lower his £50 million asking price with a view to opening negotiations with Arsenal. The Uruguayan reportedly likes the idea of living in London and linking up with Arsenal Wenger and fellow South American Alexis Sanchez at the Emirates. Cavani, an out-and-out striker by trade, is currently playing second fiddle to none other than Zlatan Ibrahimovic as Laurent Blanc€™s first-choice frontman, forcing the former to operate in a wider role. The 27-year-old appeared to be on the cusp of joining Chelsea every time a transfer window rolled around throughout his Napoli career, but he eventually completed a rather unexpected £55million move to the French capital in July 2013. Cavani has over three years remaining on his current deal, so odds are PSG won€™t be keen to backflip on such a huge investment€“ even if Arsene Wenger is willing to break the bank to sign the world-class striker the Gunners faithful are crying out for. Probability: 5/10
