Arsenal Transfers: 10 Dream Signings Wenger Still Needs To Make
8. Paul Pogba
The French starlet has really shot to prominence since he ditched Manchester United a few years back for the bright lights of Turin and Juventus, where he has been given the opportunity to develop in the first team and as a result found himself a key player in the French squad at Brazil 2014. He is tenacious, strong in the tackle, precise in the pass, dominant in the air and fierce in the shot, which is why he's been slapped with a price-tag somewhere in the region of £60-70m. But then Arsenal need a holding midfielder who can play football and Pogba is the perfect candidate even at that sort of price. Crucially Pogba is also a self confessed Arsenal fan, admitting that it has always been his dream to play for the Gunners and at the age of 20, he would represent an excellent long term investment. Add in the fact that he managed to not only irritate Alex Ferguson and proved him completely wrong in excelling for Juventus and he is obviously the perfect fit for Arsenal, given the deep seated rivalry there. Arsenal have reportedly put in a £30million bid for William Carvalho but if there was any chance of landing Pogba it should be taken as he is probably be better suited to the club and would represent one of the coups of the modern era.
I have been described as a sportsman with the brain of an athlete and the body of a scientist. Since it was established that playing wouldn't work out for me I have taken to writing.
